Second Magickal Hymn for Primal Craft

After I wrote and consecrated a magickal hymn to the Trident of Draconian Magick and the Atlantean Current, which Trident consists of Lucifer, Belial, and Hecate, Yuri M. channeled instructions for two additional magickal hymns for the praxis of Primal Craft. This hymn calls to the four demonic princes: Lucifer (also Lucifero or Lumial), Belial/Belias, Uriens, and Hasmodey/Asmodeus. Specific instructions were delineated to him by Hecate and thereupon relayed to yours truly. I have followed the instructions to the letter. Triodathannis is the magickal name that I wrote and consecrated for the Trident– it’s a singular proper noun which refers to Belial, Hecate, and Lucifer as a group. It is magickally charged and somewhat powerful.

A Ritual to Qalilitu

{This is my ritual to Qalilitu, a high-ranking archdemoness of the Qliphothic Sphere of Gamaliel (Black Moon/Lilith). Qalilitu, whom I have elected as my Matron Demoness, was originally recorded by Daemon Barzai in an anthology called Qliphoth Opus III by Black Tower Publishing. Since Qalilitu is my Matron Demoness, I owe incredible thanks to Daemon Barzai, with whom I have no affiliation. Persons unacquainted with this demoness may Google “V.K. Jehannum Qalilitu” to find my article about her, which article includes original magickal chants and a sigil.

This rite to Qalilitu is perfect for a curse, exorcism, empowerment of the psychic senses, or object consecration. The witch is required to specify her own requests. One may use this ritual, for example, to satisfy the three of the following requests: (i) strengthening the psychic senses, (ii) improving the astral double’s ability to shapeshift or teaching it to shapeshift into a specific form Qalilitu specializes in, (iii) strengthening the astral double for astral combat, (iv) strengthening the evil eye and/or the aptitude for glamour magick, (v) to strengthen the aptitude for psychic vampyrism (this includes the ability to take other people’s energy, personal magnetism, and the ability to digest/break down foreign prana/chi), (vi) holistically increasing magickal powers, (vii) increasing the aptitude for death magick and/or necromancy, and (viii) strengthening divinatory abilities.

Like many of my rituals, my rite to Qalilitu is composed entirely of voces magicae or barbarous tongues. This includes the vibration of magickal names, consecrated Latin chants, and the use of Enochian script. Like the rest of my rituals, this rite is designed to generate significant power without the use of magickal equipment, candles, sigils, incense, etc. While such material accompaniments are wonderful and may/should be implemented at the prerogative of the celebrant, this ritual can be performed without them. Phrases in italics are to be chanted and names in bold are to be vibrated. Translations of foreign phrases appear in brackets and explanations appear in parentheses. If you struggle with the pronunciation, simply pronounce your best guest and know that this is entirely sufficient. It is far more important to be confident in your performance of the rite than it is to pronounce every word correctly}

Demonolatry, Samael, Satan, Lucifer, and the Demonic Enns

I left a lengthy comment to a magickal blog I was binge-reading and decided it was worthwhile to reproduce the comment here. The article I was responding to was written by a white(-ish) magickian who worked amicably and respectfully with the Infernal Divine, focusing on the Grimorium Verum. The remainder of this essay, which follows my comment, discusses who Satan is and where Satanism originated.

The article was entitled I am Not a Demonolater. Therein the writer related some negative former pre-conceptions regarding Demonolatry, saying he had imagined the tradition would personify various negative attributes of the Satanic community. In it, he raised a handful of forgiveably inaccurate criticisms: my comment addresses his statements that (i) Demonolaters appear not to disregard and eschew divinities external to the Infernal Divine off-hand, (ii) the demonic enns appear in all ways unremarkable and without value:

“Demonolatry is one of several LHP offshoots of Satanism, alongside Chaos-Gnosticism, Luciferianism, the Draconian Tradition, and Hebdomadry (kind of). In my experience being something of an underground authority (I say authority in the loosest and least self-aggrandizing sense: an influential voice of SOME significance) and having led a Demonolatry coven primarily dedicated to Hecate and Chavajoth, I would say that Demonolatry and the Draconian Tradition are by far the most mature paradigms. Most Demonolaters are over thirty.

Some modern fringes of Satanism are still strongly affiliated with black metal, and back in the day, black metal was usually how people got into Satanism. The negative stereotypes you adduced do ring true for a portion of our demographic, so I would say that your view of Satanism is both accurate and outdated. The Satanic scene is making lots of positive progress and I have faith that it will continue to improve in the future. I think Satanism is a wonderful thing in desperate need of improvement.

The demonic enns purportedly originated from a collection of
family grimoires passed down from descendant to descendant by generational practitioners of demon magick. The story is that all of these grimoires, upon communal review, had the same enns, which enns were made public at some point after the commune.

While I am aware of no legitimate reason to believe this story, I can say that the narrative is definitely, definitely plausible after my experience meeting the inheritors from six of the generational witch families in my state: one necromancer whose family had Nazi gang affiliations, two Wiccans, one “time witch,” one “Christian Buddhist,” one deeply illiterate single mother from the ghetto whose family also had Nazi gang affiliations, and one member of a generational demon magick coven which adores Beelzebuth and Lucifer but holds Satan in disdain. These people all exhibited absolutely phenomenal spiritual capacities with reliable consistency.

The enns are probably the most well-established/popular magickal chants in the entirety of the black magickal community. A few modern black magickal authorities produce original chants and words of power which are, in my experience, more powerful than the demonic enns. As someone who has practiced a lot of magick from many different LHP traditions of demon magick and whose approach to sorcery emphasizes voces magicae higher than any of demon magick’s foremost authorities, I can recommend the demonic enns with great confidence.

Of all of Satanism’s offshoots, Demonolaters consistently obtain the best insights into the Infernal Divine. Lots if not most of us work with divinities external to the Infernal Divine: the woman who coined the term Demonolatry works with way more shit than most of us do. Demonolaters are also the least inclined of all the offshoots of Satanism to disparage Jehovah, the Sephiroth, and the archangels. The authorities of Chaos-Gnosticism convey equally admirable depths of gnosis, but do so from a deeply stupid worldview. Chaos-Gnosticism, often called Anti-Cosmic Satanism or the 218 Current, has accumulated what is possibly the most embarrassing following that any tradition of LHP demon magick has to date, with certain well-known adherents instantiating very noticeable exceptions to the general quality of the 218 Current’s following: a handful of thoroughly erudite and competent adepts.”

The most recent of my two former mentors, Adam Percipio, expressed disdain for and advised avoidance of Satan as well as the first ascended master, Qayin (Cain), when I met him due to the tradition which he’d been imparted with. While I never bought into his condemnations of Qayin and Satan, I did buy into his condemnations of Sorath and Azathoth, which led to my public condemnations of the two. He was right about Azathoth, whom S. ben Qayin has said should only be contacted when absolutely necessary and whom Venger Satanis and Anton Long both wanted to conjure Azathoth so they could rebuild society in the image of their stupid philosophies.

As for Sorath, the public conception of him is strongly influenced by the quackery of one Rudolf Steiner, whose quackery about Satan and Ahriman has been fortunately never acquired any noticeable influence in demonology. I can now join Raven White, Dragon Rouge, E.A. Koetting, and the 218 Current in the endorsement of Sorath.

Like the black magickian from the generational coven I mentioned in the comment I reproduced, Percipio believes that Lucifer and Satan are separate entities– that opinion is common in the Black Lodge. The truth is that Lucifer, Satan, Leviathan, Noctulius, Shaitan, and Azazel are all independent entities as well as aspects of one metagod. This is why Michael W. Ford, Diane Vera, and David Myatt/Anton Long approach Shaitan as a separate-ish entity from Satan and Lucifer as well: people who identify Lucifer with Satan and those who say Lucifer and Satan are separate are both glimpsing this same truth and interpreting it in conflicting but basically accurate ways.

The Serpent’s Key purports that Paimon is also an aspect of Samael (as I would put it) and identifies Paimon with Azazel. As counter-intuitive as this is, it has always clairsentiently resonated with me, even when I first dismissed the notion. Diane Vera believes Belial is also The Serpent’s Key and Diane Vera refer to the metagod as Satan, but I think it is most accurate, citing Qliphothic demonology, to refer to this metagod as Samael. Lucifer, Azazel, and Satan are all attributed to the Penultimate Qlipha: Thaumiel (Moloch & Satan/ Neptune & Pluto). Samael resides beyond the entirety of the Qliphoth. Noctulius, on the other hand, is attributed to the Planetary Sphere of the Moon.

Ahriman is separate from Samael, but what about Beelzebuth? Beelzebuth is viewed by the the Black Lodge’s majority as separate from Satan, and this is largely accurate-ish. The two should definitely be approached as separate, but there’s a bit of a divine mystery afoot. Seek your own gnosis: in reality, it’s one of those phemonenon we won’t be able to draw any accurate conclusion about whatsoever. The demons will tell you why if you ever bother to ask, and honestly, it’s a pointless endeavor of gnosis.


Adam Percipio did not meet Satan for the first time until after I’d known him for a while, and came to speak highly of Satan thereupon. He also performed his first Qliphothic working: an older and publicly unreleased version of my Sphereworking to Thaumiel. That rite was part of Liber Deus Alienus, a collection of rituals which I privately circulated amongst trusted correspondents.

Liber Deus Alienus was comprised of strongly improved variants of the rituals which my coven(s) used to self-initiate through the Qliphoth, and it’s the precursor to the Qliphothic Sphereworkings available in my website’s new “Qliphothic Self-Initiation” section, and everyone who tried it had excellent results, and many reported strong and unusual experiences. As my publicly available Qliphothic Sphereworkings are an improvement upon Liber Deus Alienus, I can say that they represent the greatest amount of effort I’ve ever put into writing rituals, and that they have been more thoroughly tested than any ritual I’ve put out other than my Simple Rite to Become a Satanist, which also received excellent reviews from several people.

I have received one negative review of my rituals to date: my Invocation of Mephistophiles. My Invocation of Mephistophiles was one of several invocation rites I wrote quickly over the course of a day, and while I think they’re effective enough, they’re not my best work. My rituals almost exclusively receive exceptional reviews, even when I write them in haste (note: look for anything with a really stupid sounding name and you’ve found one I wrote in haste. One example is the Goetic Ritual of the Fuccboi, which I have re-titled the Ritual of the Lover. I wind up having to re-title a lot of shit).

The Best Approach to Soft Polytheism

My causal, human mind wants Satan to be the same entity as Loki and Ahriman because of how simple the universe would be if that were true. Believing this misconception would give me a sensation of understanding that makes me more comfortable in my relationship with the Numinous*. There are distinct similarities, archetypally speaking, between these divinities, and concluding that they are all the same would relieve me of the feeling of ambiguity that makes me more hesitant to pursue a relationship with those divinities than I would be if I were certain of their identities.

*”The Numinous” is a synonym for “the Divine” with specific philosophical connotations. The concept of the Numinous, coined by Rudolf Otto, is central to my philosophy, as well as to the philosophies of Mircea Eliade and David Myatt, who is also known as Stephen Leather and Anton Long. Anton Long’s take on this concept is the one most influential to me. You do not need to understand the philosophical concept of the Numinous to understand my writings, you just need to understand that “the Numinous” is a synonym for “the Divine” but never a synonym for “the Divine All.”

Many black magickians begin to question their sanity as they are forced to confront, through gnosis, hidden truths about reality. I have never questioned mine, and I would urge you not to question yours. It will always be possible to accomplish more with magick than we are capable of believing is possible. There are always truths about the Numinous that we will never be able to accept or understand. Our guiding spirits and True Will determine how much gnosis we are to be burdened with. There is certain knowledge we need to have to transcend mortality and actualize our True Will, and we are going to receive that knowledge if we are willing to work for it, but there will always be truth we cannot handle, and that will be withheld from us by our guiding spirits and our own reasoning process. All of us will live in the dark until the day we fucking die.

The demons who guide you, despite being legitimately invested in your acquisition of gnosis, will lie to your face. Forever. This is why it is so difficult to accurately identify one given spirit with similar entities from other religious paradigms. When you ask your guiding spirits whether or not Satan and Ahriman are one and the same, you are like a child asking your parents if Santa is real. Frankly, your parents are more concerned with what you want for Christmas, and the child will still have the mind of a child regardless of the answer they give him.

In general, ascertaining whether or not two entities are one requires two or more of three things: (i) thorough research, (ii) personal gnosis or coven gnosis, and (iii) the personal or coven gnosis of witches who are external to your in-person magickal group (online acquaintances). It is optimal for coven gnosis or personal gnosis to be the first source you pursue so that you don’t have preconceptions cloud your gnosis. There will be occasions where the circumstances allow for completely accurate conclusions to be drawn in such matters without the two-source-minimum guideline I just provided– it’s just a guideline.

I used the two-source minimum rule to find out that Davcina, a goddess venerated in Hebdomadry (the paradigm of the ONA), was the same entity as the ancient goddesses Damkina/Damgalnunna/Ninmah/Ninhursag. It was in a manuscript by +o+ (the Temple of THEM) where I got the idea that Davcina could be Damkina. I didn’t bother with trying to figure out whether or not +o+ was right about that– I already doubted +o+’s ability to correctly identify the divinities of Hebdomadry with deities from older polytheisms for a reason (they were usually right, but sometimes they weren’t). Instead, I asked Qalilitu, my matron demoness, about Davcina. I channeled large amounts of information about what Davcina’s abilities and attributes were. When I later started researching Damkina, I found that the descriptions of that Sumerian goddess matched both the descriptions of Davcina in Hebdomadry as well as my personal gnosis about her.

So, I decided to perform an experiment. I was still in the ONA at this point, so I had a bunch of Niners seek personal gnosis about whether or not Davcina was the same entity as Damkina, as well as whether Damkina and Davcina were the same entity as Damgalnunna and Ninhursag. My gnosis was largely confirmed– these four entities were the same goddess, but they were different aspects of that goddess. These different aspects would act independently of one another, even to the extent of occupying different ranks in the hierarchies of the gods.

You’re probably wondering why the fuck I was so cautious. I had channeled personal gnosis that confirmed the postulations of an authority in Hebdomadry, and not only that, I had had the accuracy of my personal gnosis confirmed by later research about Damkina. Why was I so paranoid that I felt the need to correspond with other practitioners? Well, let’s talk about Ahriman, and I’ll tell you how I figured out the he was a separate entity from Satan.

Ahriman is a devil from an ancient paradigm of absolute black-and-white duotheism known as Zoroastrianism, which religion is named for its founder, a spiritual teacher named Zoroaster or Zarathustra. In Zoroastrianism, Ahriman is not simply the leader of the evil spirits called daevas or dews. He is the sentient hypostasis of Druj itself.

Druj, a philosophical concept in Zoroastrianism, is linguistically translated to the English words “falsehood,” “evil,” and “destruction.” It’s a metaphysical force which struggles against the force of Asha, and the two linguistic roots for the word Druj come from words meaning “below” and “to blacken.”

The daevas were simply the various divinities of neighboring polytheisms– “daeva” is variously translated as “wrong god,” “false god,” and “god that is to be rejected.” The word “devas” is used in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism in reference to divine beings and/or gods (albeit in somewhat different ways). The worship of daevas was believed to inadvertently engender the furtherance of Druj, as did the practice of Yatuik Dinoh (witchcraft), for the daevas sought the increase of chaos, deception, and turmoil.

Progressions of Zoroastrian doctrine came to redefine the daevas as personifications of immoral traits. The six arch-daevas personified the six foremost sinful behaviors, just like the two demonological classifications of Peter Binsfield and The Lanterne of Light attributed seven demons to the seven deadly sins. The six arch-daevas struggled against the six “divine sparks” which equate to archangels in Zoroastrianism. Among the daevas was Aeshma-Daeva, the dew/daeva of wrath often identified with Asmodeus in Abrahamic demonology. He’s going to come up later, as will the arch-daeva Indar and the daevic bride of Ahriman known variously as Az, Jeh, Jehu, and Jahi.

Needless to say, Druj is a feminine noun (Asha is neuter). The name “Jehu” translates to “Whore,” and menstruation came about when Az-Jehu convinced Ahriman to engender great evil. Adherents to polytheism worshiped devils in disguise, and of course, most artistic representations of Jesus take influence from the iconography of Zoroaster. You get the idea.

The Coven of the Second Torch, which I led, originated with only myself and two incredibly gifted neophytes whom I refer to in writing as Terror and Chase. Unlike me, Chase and Terror had the gift of mediumship, so they would regularly become vessels for consensual possession by the spirits which Hecate has designated as our teachers. We’d had three Hecatean spirit guides assigned to us, and their names are to never be published. The daimon (I only use the word ‘daimon’ to refer to the non-deity spirits of Greek and Roman polytheism) assigned to me was a hermaphroditic empousa– a powerful, young emissary of Hecate full of vitality. The daimon assigned to Chase was a male lamia– a daimon once banished to wander eternity before Hecate suddenly freed him so that he could become one of our guides. Both of these spirits came to answer to the archdaimon, a male strigae, who was assigned to Terror– the youngest member of the coven.

When the archdaimonic strigae possessed Terror, he would become limited to Terror’s vocabulary if he spoke to me in English. In one of our later seances, the archstrigae told me that while he did not know where he came from, he did know that the strigiai (the vampyric owl-daimones among Hecate’s nocturnal procession) were created by Hecate and “the Winged God” via asexual reproduction.

He looked at me, doubting that I would know which deity he was referring to. I had to guess, and I guessed right (Hermes). The archdaimon would remember the name Hermes and be able to say the name Hermes until the possession seance ended, at which point the daimon would leave the vessel and Terror would become conscious with no memory of the seance. Terror still wouldn’t know who Hermes was when he awakened. While the strigae still knows who Hermes is and can still give excellent insights into the nature and history of Hermes, he didn’t know the name Hermes when he was in Terror’s body. These are the mechanics of possession.

So, I now had coven gnosis about the origin of strigiai. Could I rely on it? I would later go on to read the Greek Magickal Papyrus and learn that Hermekate was a codified metagod used in ancient sorcery– a union of Hermes and Hekate comparable to Lidagon (the union of Darkat and Dagon) and Hermaphrodite.

One night, the Coven of the Second Torch invited two non-initiates to a casual hang-out. It was a casual affair, but after two of Chase and I’s coworkers overheard us talking on shift and asked to join the coven, we were getting greedy. Most witches in their twenties can’t achieve an evocation, but the three of us could teach anyone to do it, and no one who endeavored ritual with us ever doubted that what we did was real. We were naive– just because we could show people that magick was real didn’t mean they would be brave enough to pursue initiation, and just because someone performed a ritual with us that permanently improved their life didn’t mean that they would share our drive for attainment. Many who came to us would perform an evocation with us if they’d been contacted by the spirits of Satan (or in this case, it was the spirits of Tezcatlipoca and Tlazolteotl which one of the non-initiates had had an experience with), and even if they weren’t able to see and communicate with what we summoned like we could, they would get results (and sometimes knowledge) that would benefit them forever, and then they would decide within days that our path was too… much. Our role in their lives was to make them understand the revelations and experiences they had received before they came to us. We struggled to learn the lesson that experience of the Numinous does not prove that one is destined for the Craft.

Terror entered total possession while Chase was taking a nap, which was difficult for the non-initiates to watch. Despite the fact that we were gifted, possession was still new to us, so the way we act to give the spirits hold of us is more dramatic than it is for some. One of the non-initiates was quiet, but the other kept asking me if I could say for certain that what was going on was safe– and he kept asking.

“Are you sure he’s okay?”

“It’s fine,” I said. “He does this all the time. We all do. I can’t do it like he and Chase can, but we all love it.”

The possession took hold and I started speaking with the spirit. The non-initiate who’d expressed his worries to me was quiet while the other kept asking questions to see how the archdaimon would answer. The boy believed that what was happening was real, but he was skeptical about the spirit itself. He asked how the world was created, how it would end, and the daimon answered. The answers were consistently smarter than anything that Terror and Chase could come up with together, they provided incredible wisdom, and they knew impossible things. Non-initiates who witnessed our seances were always taken aback by that, especially this querent.

The other non-initiate looked up and nervously broke his silence. “Terror’s a really good friend of mine,” he said. “I know a human can’t do much, but if you hurt him, I will do everything I can to kill you.”

The archdaimon put his hand on the man’s shoulders. “I know that,” he said. “That’s why I consider you a friend.”

The non-initiate was shocked, and he gradually started to trust the strigae and our Craft. As the conversation progressed, I decided to ask the strigae which spirit our coven should evoke later that night when the non-initiates were gone.

“The Prince of Persia,” said the archdaimon through the possessed body of Terror.

This very much confused the non-initiates. “The movie?” One of them asked.

“That’s a nickname,” the daimon said. “V.K. will know who I mean.”

I thought for a second and then made a guess. “Asmodeus?”

The strigae nodded with the vessel’s head. “Yes, Asmodeus!” he answered. “He kicked Raphael’s ass once, but the Bible and lied about it.” He blinked. “Well, shit, that wasn’t the Bible… Uh, anyway, you can basically ask Asmodeus for any kind of strength that you want.”

I’m paraphrasing the spirit’s responses about as accurately as I can. This is how I found out that Aeshma-Daeva, the evil spirit of Persian religion (Zoroastrianism) was the same entity as Asmodeus. I thought for a moment. “Is Ahriman the same being as Satan?” I asked.

The spirit said yes, but the vessel’s facial expression confused me. Like he’d become unhappy about something, or disappointed in some way, and he’d just been smiling when he spoke of Asmodeus.

I remembered Robert Fraize’s claim that Tiamat and Satan are the same entity. I’d never believed that was true, but if Ahriman and Satan really were the same, maybe this whole soft polytheism thing holds more water than I thought it did. Before I started leading a coven, I wasn’t even sure whether or not Satan wasn’t just part of the mind like so many thinkers said. We were just getting started, and things were happening so quickly.

“Is Tiamat the same as Satan too?” I asked.

“Yes,” the archstrigae said again, still with that look on the vessel’s face.

I thought for a moment, trying to reconcile these facts (lies) with what I already knew.

“Shouldn’t Satan be the same as Absu instead?” I asked. “Absu’s male, Tiamat should probably be Lilith, right?”

“Oh yeah,” said the archdaimon. “You’re right.”

Something was up. The archdaimon was knowledgeable of every deity I’d asked it about despite being consistently limited by Terror’s vocabulary. The lamia that was assigned to Chase wasn’t familiar with most of the deities that modern black magickians work with, but the archstrigai always gave reliable insights about deities that Terror had never heard of. He was even familiar with the difference between the Baphomet of the ONA and the Baphomet of Eliphas Levi– he gave me great insights about the latter (we’ll get back to that). He gave me advice about how to summon the ONA’s Baphomet that was completely unlike anything the ONA had advised, and I was pleasantly surprised when I later read a piece of that same advice in Evoking Eternity by E.A. Koetting.

Besides, the spirit went from not being able to name Asmodeus despite knowing the that the demon had originated in Persian religion to knowing the truth behind the myth of the fight between Asmodeus and Raphael. He was not only familiar with that myth, he was even clearly familiar with the existence of the apocryphal Book of Tobit from which the myth originated. He had demonstrated that he knew the Book of Tobit was not included in the Bible despite being incapable of producing the name of the text with Terror’s lips (I had to Google it myself). The whole thing was fucking amazing. Something like confusing Tiamat and Absu with one another wasn’t like him.

When the strigae left Terror’s body, I told him that we were supposed to summon Asmodeus as he recovered from grogginess (which only took a moment). Terror’s immediate response was “Who the fuck is Asmodeus?”

“The Prince of Persia,” I said.

After the ritual to Asmodeus, I never doubted that Aeshma-Daeva and Asmodeus were the same being. But some reason, I didn’t feel confident that Ahriman was really Satan. I trusted the strigae completely– the daimones had loved us since we were little kids, and the strigae even had strong allegiances with the Infernal Divine (Hecate is very much aligned with Satan). Weeks later, during another seance, Chase entered total possession with his new patron demon: Niantiel, the ruler of one of the pathways in the Qliphoth.

Chase had been asleep when we gave the non-initiates our first seance, and Terror wasn’t present for this one. Plus, Niantiel was unrelated to the group of daimones which Hecate had sent to guide us. Like Terror, Chase was unfamiliar with Zoroastrianism and Ahriman. It was the perfect opportunity, and Niantiel told me that Satan and Ahriman, while similar, were not the same entity.

This taught me two important things. First, just because your spirits tell you that one entity is the same as another doesn’t mean you can believe it. Even if you channel excellent gnosis and your spirits really are invested in your success doesn’t mean your personal gnosis or coven gnosis on matters like these will be accurate. You can do everything right when you look for these answers, but it still won’t matter. Seeking these answers is almost a lost cause in and of itself. The fact that Asmodeus is Aeshma-Daeva would suggest that Ahriman is Satan, and yet Ahriman and Satan are separate. Figuring out whether one deity is the same as another is really that fucking complicated, so it’s no wonder the spirits don’t care to tell us the truth and let us carry our misconceptions. That’s why there are Satanists who misidentify Satan with so many other gods. Some say Satan was Tiamat, some say he was Marduk, and others say he was Enki– and those are just the entities that people misidentify Satan with in one religion (Mespotamian polytheism). The spirits allow us to make these misidentifications because the truth of such matters really is that close to being a lost cause.

And it gets worse. Ahriman is not Satan, but Aeshma-Daeva is Asmodeus, so what about Az-Jehu? Az is the same entity as one spirit in Abrahamic religion– take a guess who. Michael W. Ford identifies Az with Lilith, which makes sense, but he goes on to identify the both of them with Kali, which is more of a stretch, and he also identifies Ahriman with Satan, which we know is wrong. In the Choronzon edition of The Book of the Witch Moon, Ford identifies Cain with Pan.

Ford deserves a lot of fucking respect, and I was wrong not to show him that respect in the past. But really think about this. Ford identifies Cain with Pan in writing. The spirits are right not to trust our judgment about matters like this.

So, are you ready for the answer? Az-Jehu is the same entity as Semyaza, the male leader of the Grigori (the fallen angels called the Watchers). I’m completely confident about that, however ludicrous that sounds. So now, I’m going to give a list of the deity=deity conclusions I’ve drawn

Satan, Leviathan, Lucifer, and Azazel are all aspects of the same entity. In Qabbalah, the highest aspect of the Devil (which lies beyond even the entirety of the Qliphoth) is referred to as Samael, not to be confused with the angel named Samael or the Qlipha named Samael. So I’ll put it like this: Lucifer and Satan are different aspects of Samael which operate independently from one another the same way that Christians believe Jesus, Jehovah, and the Holy Spirit operate (Note: Jesus was just a human who became an overrated immortal charlatan that New Agers are wasting their time with ascended master). Some practitioners of demon magick like E.A. Koetting and Adam Percipio consider Satan and Lucifer to be separate entities, and they’re only kind of right. When they call on Lucifer, regardless of believing him to have been a Roman god or whatever, they are still manifesting that same aspect of Samael. The counterintuitive claim made by a YouTuber called “The Serpent’s Key” that Paimon is also an aspect of Samael turned out to be true, but Diane Vera’s belief that Belial is an aspect of Satan is wrong (which is lame, cuz I believed her).

Amaymon is not the same entity as Mammon.

Machaloth is not the same entity as Magoth.

Astaroth is the same entity as Astarte, Inanna, Ishtar, Isis, and Attar. However, those goddesses are different aspects of one deity, possibly independent aspects at that– just like Satan and Lucifer.

Abaddon/Apollyon is the same entity as Apollo, the Olympian god of the Sun– that’s something I know for certain. Qalilitu, my matron demoness, told me that Apollo and Abaddon are not independent aspects. Sauroctonos, one of the entities the ONA venerates, is the same entity as Apollo (if you Google Sauroctonos you’ll wind up on Apollo’s Wikipedia page). However, when Apollo is contacted via Hebdomadry, he manifests in a very unusual way. I have rituals on my website to Lycoctonos/Lyceus (Apollo’s manifestation as a wolf) and Sauroctonos (Apollo’s manifestation when accessed through Hebdomadry). Only work with Sauroctonos if you’re guiding spirits tell you to do so because it’s weird as fuck. I was told to perform a certain number of invocations to Sauroctonos and then stop. When I did it one more time than I was told to, Sauroctonos castigated me for it. It was very useful, but I’ll probably never work with that manifestation of Abaddon/Apollo again. One of the leading voices in the ONA proclaimed that Abaddon was Abatu based on no evidence whatsoever, and Qalilitu told me they were wrong.

Mephistophiles is the same entity as Ophiel, the Olympic spirit of Mercury. Mephistophiles has nothing to do with Mephitis and he is probably not an aspect of Samael.

Andras is the Zoroastrian daeva Indar and the Hindu deva Indra.

Murmur is the same entity Mormo, the son of Hecate.

Alex Jones is the same entity as Bill Hicks (kidding).

Camio/Caym is the highest aspect of Cain/Qayin. Tubal-Qayin is another aspect of Qayin, which aspect appears to have came into being by some form of initiatory self-transformation he enacted. He isn’t the same as Pan though.

Azanigin, Az-Jehu, and Semyaza are all the same entity. I’ll have to tell you how I figured that out some time, because it’s a long story. Azael, Azazel, and Semyaza are all separate entities from one another, and Azazel and Azrael are not the same.

The goddess which the ONA venerates by the name Baphomet is the planetary spirit of the planet Earth (and she’s really great to work with). She is not the same as Lilith, and she has nothing to do with Bastet regardless of what the leading voices in the ONA say. The etymology and history given for Baphomet in ONA literature is completely made up, and they have a devious reason for making it up.

Atazoth of Hebdomadry is the same entity as Azathoth. In fact, Anton Long stole his teachings about Atazoth from Kenneth Grant’s teachings about Azathoth (he also stole his teachings about Azanigin from Grant’s teachings on Aza, a Gnostic demoness who originated from Az-Jehu).

Budsturga is not the same as Durga.

Darkat is not the same as Lilith.

Satanchia (also called Put Satanachia) is the same as Chia.

Lilith, Eisheth Zenunim, and Na’amah are all separate entities from one another.

But here’s the one you’ve been waiting for: Santa isn’t real. And neither is Vindex.

Qliphothic Sphereworking Rites

This article will be finished incrementally, and it will include self-initiation rites for all ten spheres of the Qliphoth. Go to my website’s new “Qliphothic Self-Initiation” category every once in a while for updates on this and the previous article. Non-Qliphothic Sphereworkings and Pathworkings (i.e. Initiations through the Tunnels of Set) will be coming out soon, all free and publicly available forever (someone had to do this).

These rites use some chants that I did not write: this includes Book of Belial by John Putigano, Tree of Shadows from Black Tower Publishing, The Book of Sitra Achra by the 218 Current, Lilith: Goddess of Sitra Ahra from Black Tower Publishing, the corpus of Dragon Rouge, The Book of Mephisto by Asenath Mason, the writings of Baron and Baronessa Araignee, The True Red Book of Appin, the manuscripts of the Temple of the Black Light, and The Bible of the Adversary by Michael W. Ford.

Self-Initiation through a planetary sphere has the same basic effects regardless of whether said planetary sphere is accessed through the Sephiroth, Qliphoth, Tree of Wyrd, or even without the use of any schema (tree). There are only two differences when using the Qliphoth: (i) you are using black magick, so it’s both more powerful and more dangerous, and (ii) the Sphere of the Black Earth is not the same as the Sphere of the Earth. The next article will provide sphereworking rites for the Planetary Spheres of the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun which make no use of any tree and still invoke the auspices of demons for the working. The Non-Qliphothic Sphereworkings may be pursued at any time or not at all, so for now, we focus on the Qliphoth.

Each sphereworking elevates consciousness and orchestrates a trial in the mundane life of the celebrant, which trial completes the transformutation engendered by the sphereworking. Niners and practitioners of demon magick alike provide the guideline of performing one sphereworking per month, and while this is a good guideline, I don’t give a fuck about guidelines and neither should you. You perform the next sphereworking when your spirit guides decide you do: if your gut says you need to perform two different sphereworkings in one night, you fucking do it.

These rites integrate the Qlipha-opening formulae provided in Liber Sitra Achra from the 218 Current and compliment said formula with a thoroughly excessive dose of name-vibration and recitation of magickal formula. Each rite starts with the vibration of the names of the demons and deities attributed to the Qlipha and continues with a series of magickal chants which serve to presence the energies & entities of the Qlipha. Chants to Saksaksalim and Gaap are used in every Qliphothic sphereworking because they are capable of engendering initiation through all the Qliphothic spheres and tunnels– a very unique ability. Most demons have multiple planetary and Qliphothic attributions, so don’t be surprised to see the central devil of a given Qlipha invoked in Sphereworkings to other Qliphothic realms.

My sphereworkings are probably more than ten times as powerful than the average Qlipha-opening formula for a reason: you won’t be needing incense, specifically colored candles, sigils, etc. to achieve insanely powerful results with these rites (but if such accompaniments are available to you, use them). I am open to having these articles appear in print in some anthology, book, or other publication, but it is the prerogative of interested parties to approach me if they would like that.

If you feel led to self-initiate through a given Qlipha when you have not performed the sphereworkings preceding it, do so. You will still experience an elevation of consciousness, but you will not be able to access the full alchemical potency of the Qlipha until you’ve been initiated through its predecessors. The second-to-last chant in every sphereworking strengthens the internal nexion (Black Flame) with the Black Light of the Qliphoth, with light is a half-and-half mixture of darkness and light (rather than some dualistic antithesis of normal azoth). The final chant strengthens the internal nexion with non-infernal azoth. Each chant is recited eight times because eight is the number of the Philosopher’s Stone. The goal of these workings is to develop the Adamas Ater [Black Diamond] or Lapis Exilis [Stone of Exile]– the variant of the Philosopher’s Stone attainable through the alchemy of demon magick.

If you have yet to perform a single sphereworking, you will find instantly that planetary self-initiations, regardless of whether performed with or without the Qliphoth, is precisely the avenue of self-empowerment you’ve been dreaming of. You may alter these rites in any way you desire. If you would rather use another writer’s sphereworkings instead of mine, no one is going to tell you that’s a bad idea. If you want to go back and forth between my sphereworkings and those written by someone else, you may do so. You can access the Qliphothic spheres any way you like. I have not read Asenath Mason’s recent Qliphothic grimoire, but after having read The Book of Mephisto and Mason’s article in Qliphoth Opus III, I have no doubt that her recent book is far better than anything I have written about the Qliphoth. In fact, I will tacitly say that it will probably be at least 30 years before anyone else writes as good of a treatise on the Qliphoth as she published with BALG.

It is worth specifying that the intention of these rites is to call the power of the spheres into one’s person and into one’s life. There is no need here to enter the sphere via astral projection, dream work, or vision-journey: do such only if you desire. You are not obliged to.

Based on the feedback I’ve gotten from my other rituals, I am completely confident that these are some of the best Qliphothic sphereworkings ever written, just as I am confident that absolutely anyone can write rituals as powerful as mine. The magickal chants section of my site serves to make it as easy as possible for you to do so. I have no contention whatsoever with anyone, on any website, or in any publication using any of my original chants in their own work without notifying me. I would like to be given credit if this happens, but I currently have no intention of starting beef with anyone who replicates these chants without giving me credit.

The Ten Spheres of the Qliphoth

This article, which I will be updating as time and increases of knowledge permit and cause, describes the structure of the Qliphoth and the evolutions engendered by an active and long-term initiation calling on it. The Qliphothic Spheres are believed by the White Lodge to represent unbalanced and disorganized reflections of the initiatory forces which are entreated through the Sephiroth. In truth, the Qliphothic Sphere of Jupiter introduces the magickain to the same initiatory force as its corresponding Sephira. The path to enlightenment through demon magick is harder and far more powerful route. Our initiators are not imbalanced; this misconception stems from the manifold plights of those initiates who could not handle the darker path. We acknowledge that the praxis of the White Lodge engenders great awakening, and we await the day they awaken enough to see that we chose the right path for us.

If the witch is guided to do so, she may self-initiate through a Qliphothic Sphere or Path without having endured the initiations intended to come before it. The result is a significant and beneficial taste of the evolution which the working could have brought about if the witch had went in order. She will, of course, still evolve, and when she re-initiates through the Path or Sphere she skipped ahead to after completing the prior steps, she will find the trial of her initiation to have been appropriately attenuated.

A witch can conjure the energies of any given Qlipha for self-empowerment, the attainment of desired things, or to manifest any other need without self-initiating through the Sphere. You’re not going to manage a planetary initiation on accident. My many rites to Qliphas of the Middle Column didn’t initiate me through a single sphere (I wasn’t familiar with the concept of initiatory Sphereworkings), but they made those Qliphas really fucking easy to self-initiate through once I got my head out of my ass.

The guideline is to perform one Sphereworking a month. That’s a good guideline. Unfortunately, guidelines are useless here, but I think the attempt was good. You do this shit the way your gut, your divination, and your guiding spirits tell you. If they tell you to skip ahead, do it. If they tell you to do two Sphereworkings to different Qliphas on the same night like they told me to, you’ll be happy you did, just like I was.

The goal of Sphereworkings is not to enter the Qlipha via meditation journeys, astral projection, or dream magick. I’ve done these things and I have found them beneficial, but the truth remains that the purpose of a Sphereworking is to bring the initiatory force of the Qlipha into your life and your consciousness. Your consciousness will undergo nearly instant refinement and the influence of the Qlipha will engender trials in your life tailored intentfully to “flesh out” your change in consciousness.

I have Sphereworkings for all 10 Qliphas, Non-Qliphothic Sphereworkings for 3 Planetary Spheres inaccessible through the Qliphoth, Pathworkings for all 22 Tunnels of Set, a Rite of Fourfold-Initiation through the Hidden Tunnels of Set, and rituals which serve to polish, increase, or correct the transformative effects of these rites. Nahemoth is the first sphere and it corresponds to the Black Earth—the astral realm wherein fairies reside. Nahemoth overlaps with our planet, and any given gap between trees, moments between musical notes, or causal location can be or become a gateway to its mysteries. The name Nahemoth [the Whisperers] is also rendered Nehemoth and Nahemo and the Qlipha has the alternate names of Lilith [Night Spectre] and Reschaim [Elements]. It is ruled by Nahema/Na’amah, and to it are attributed new beginnings, curses or hexes, natural disasters, self-transformation, destruction and death, rebirth or redemption, revolution, psychic vampyrism, personal magnetism, witchcraft in general, sexual power, enchantment, rebellion, opulence, carnality, atavism, worldly power, death, ruthlessness or cruelty, and illusion or deception. Herein the magickian begins to acquire self-knowledge and learns to emulate & use the characteristics of the demonic masculine & demonic feminine alike.

Nahemoth is the womb-gate to Hell. While the Qliphothic spheres from Thaumiel [Neptune & Pluto; Moloch & Satan] to Gamaliel (Black Moon; Lilith) are all considered to be emanations of the Adversary or Devil, Nahemoth is not an emanation of the Devil– it’s a creation of the Devil: a manifestation of the Diabolic whereby the Adversarial Divinity achieves fulfillment. Nahemoth is the point of entry for the Black Light, the creation of which Black Light (Aur Chashakh/Xul/Or She-Ein Bo Mashavah) is completed in Gamaliel.

As the Sun is the center of the solar system, the Sphere of the Sun signifies, archetypally, the center of the universe– the Logos, or the knowledge revealed. The Black Sun is the true and hidden center of the universe, the true acausal anchoring point and the Alogos– the hidden gnosis. The Black Earth, similarly, is the underlying reality of our physical world that we tap into whenever we deny the illusory causal restrictions of our universe. The forces of Nahemoth control the material plane and can be called upon to bestow all manner of mundane acquisitions.

The difference between the Earth and the Black Earth is the difference between an object and an unmanifest ideal in the philosophy of Plato. Nahemoth functions like a master key to the universe: one can travel to Nahemoth and therefrom transport to any sphere or tunnel on either the Tree of Life or Tree of Knowledge. White magickians struggle to enter the Tunnels of Set (i.e., the pathways between the Qliphothic spheres), usually resorting to an incredibly difficult and really inconvenient-sounding operation wherein they travel through Da’ath to get to a given tunnel. Nahemoth, however, is a wonderful portal to any given realm.

Nehemoth/Reschaim is the abode of Behemoth. Behemoth is the Apocalyptic Beast of the Earth, just as Ziz/Renanin is the Apocalyptic Beast of the Air. Mythological narratives differ as to whether there are one or two Apocalyptic Beasts of the Water– namely Taninsam and Leviathan. It is the prerogative of the celebrant to determine, based on her own gnosis, whether these beasts truly symbolize the end of the world, or rather, signify the end of the world as we know it– a simple cycle of aeons. The Goetic demon Phenex is attributed to Nahemoth. Shax’s primary attribution is to Nahemoth as well.

If Na’amah shows up to attack you after you self-initiate through Nahemoth, just take it on the chin. She’s only purifying your energy, and trust me, you’ll be glad she did. I was never attacked by Nahema, but the secret portions of my tradition did bring about an experience of that kind with a few non-Qliphothic entities: Tiamat, Qingu, and Absu. Three visible black dragons. No explanation. Hours.

A lot of you won’t get attacked by Na’amah and I honestly don’t know how common it is, but if Na’amah shows up in the middle of the night, it is for the best, and I don’t think I’m going to be feeling sorry for you.

The realm of Gamaliel/Gamalielim corresponds to the black reflection of the Earth’s moon and is ruled by Lilith. Its attributes are sexual alchemy, matters relating to the LGBTQ, dream work, lunar and nocturnal magick, seduction, astral magick, death, psychic vampyrism, personal magnetism, malice, hidden wisdom, astral projection, protection, shapeshifting, necromancy, miscarriages and abortion, letting go of what is dead and past, night terrors, necromancy, self-deification, and sexual black-magickal practices. The witch is forced to face hidden and repressed aspects of her sexuality. Incubi and succubi dwell herein, and guide the witch to sabbatic orgies in the astral plane.

The Sephirothic Sphere of the Moon, known as Yesod, is considered to have been the Garden of Eden, which Sphere (Yesod/Eden) was held to be a perfect mirror of the Penultimate Sephira known as Kether. Ergo, Gamaliel is the Nightside of Eden, and therefore a perfect reflection of the Penultimate Qlipha called Thaumiel (Neptune & Pluto/ Moloch & Satan). The connection of Gamaliel to sabbatic orgies, then, is perfectly sensible: if Yesod was a Mirror of the Far-Removed Numinous wherein humans could frolick with God, then of course Gamaliel is where magickians can frolick with Devils.

As the Sun is the center of our solar system, the Sphere of the Sun archetypally plays a similar role as the Logos. It is, however, the Black Sun which is the hidden center of the universe, without a center and yet with a circumference encompassing all that is, of which every Higher Self is simply another ray. The Sphere of the Black Moon is then the underlying reality that we tap into whenever we manifest possibilities usually restricted by the pre-causal (not acausal) laws that govern Qamar [the Sphere of the Moon]. It’s really all one tree.

Samael holds the key to the mystery of form. Herein the Satanist becomes an embodiment of Promethean-Darwinian principles as the Samm (venom) of the demonic awakens hidden aspects of her Black Flame and spirituality. Adamelech rules the realm which corresponds to Mercury, wherein dwell dragons and dragon-winged angels who bear chalices filled with venom and massive keys. Its energies can stimulate spells previously cast, and it is known as the domain of the pursuit of godhood. Herein the witch dies and becomes reborn once again after trials that force her to question her own self-value and sanity. The witch is tested with pride in illusory achievements.

Samael is where the metamorphosis truly begins. The influence of this sphere can reveal the deceptions employed against the witch and elucidate hidden enemies. Herein the witch can refine her being through darksome alchemies and forbidden metallurgies. This sphere signifies the beginning of the pursuit of self-deification through demon magick. The forces of Samael can teach the witch to master the evil eye.

Once initiated through the Qlipha of Mercury, one learns to see wisdom and insanity as she is forced to question every part of her worldview and purpose. The witch is often forced to confront failings of her behavior and admit herself to blame for fall-outs she’d always fancied herself innocent in– it’s a brutal epiphany, but she’s better off for it. Booze and tears are common here.

The Sphere of the Earth is in the physical world, and the Sphere of the Moon is in the astral world. Samael is the first step into the mental world and the first Qlipha in the Pillar of Severity– that analytic and dissolving principle of the Numinous upon which the foundation of the scholar’s path to enlightenment is predicated. The second Qlipha in the mental plane is the first Qlipha on the Pillar of Mercy, A’areb Zaraq (Venus/Bael). It is within the Planetary Sphere of Venus that our subconscious desires are generated, and it is within the Planetary Sphere of Mercury that these abstract inclinations find form– subconscious form– which form crosses the bridge of the Lunar Sphere and be expressed within the Sphere of Causality and Consciousness. It is by the attainment of form that a thing can be identified.

The Planetary Sphere of Mercury, like all Planetary Spheres that don’t lie in the tree’s middle collumn, contains an infernal territory and demonic principality alongside a celestial territory and angelic principality, both of which territories are merely locations within the Sphere of Mercury, and neither of which principalities govern the Sphere of Mercury. It is within Samael, which is both the Infernal Principality of the Planetary Sphere of Mercury and the Dissolving-Mental-Mercurial Progression of the Infernal Divine, that many spirits of the dead reside and may be contacted and conjured forth from.

The Qliphas of Mercury and Venus, being both Spheres of the Mental Plane of the Qliphoth, are codependent to a large degree– compared frequently to a matching pair of feet. Samael stripped away my arrogant delusion of virtue and forced me to see how awful I had been, and in doing so, made it possible for me to pursue virtue. A’areb Tzaraq imbued me with a depth of Platonic love and empathy– a strong driving force which saw that virtue was pursued. Do not expect necessarily that you shall emulate this, but I suspect the development of your physis [spiritual essence & essence of character] will undergo a evolution which, while paralleling my own efflorescence, will unfold in the way that is applicable to you.

To comprehend the initiatory forces of A’areb Tzaraq and Samael alike, which opposite initiatory forces together comprise the evolution bestowed by the mental plane, is to understand not only forms, but also the underlying essence that forms express. Then, the witch acquires true agency over forms, for they can no longer manipulate her. This will come.

Gharab/A’areb Zaraq/Harab Serapel/Oreb Mavet
Oreb Zaraq means “Ravens of Dispersion.” It’s the Qlipha which compliments perfectly that which is attained on the Qliphoth’s opposite collumn– the mental plane’s preceding half. Its guide is Baal and it’s attributed to Venus.

Magus Rob called Oreb Zaraq “the realm of creation and manifestation magick.” The attributes of the Qlipha include art, love magick, violent crime, theft, the incitement of envy, astral projection, death, war and combat, rites involving ecstatic states of mind, turning organization to disorder and vice versa, alchemical rites of draconic witchcraft, all manner of conflict, stealth and espionage, and eroto-mysticism.

Initiation through Gharab causes the witch’s magickal powers skyrocket and teaches her exactly how to apply them. After all, Gharab is the first Qlipha on the Pillar of Mercy: the associative and connective impulse of infernality. Samael elevated the consciousness of the witch via her first planetary initiation into the repelling expression of the Numinous, and now, through Gharab, she’s initiated through the attracting expression of the Numinous. As Samael was her first initiation into the scholar’s path to attainment, Gharab initiates her into the artist’s path to attainment. The perspective attained is priceless.

My star apprentice and I agreed that this Qlipha fixed us in ways we didn’t know we were broken. We began to feel an all-new depth of empathy and Platonic love for the people that we cared about. If Samael forced me to see the flaws in myself, I suppose Gharab gave me the eyes to see the value in my friends.

The initiatory force of this Qlipha fills the witch with doubts regarding her spiritual path. She’s made to question whether or not she was ever cut out for the alchemical endeavors of demon magick. The Qliphoth has heigthened her consciousness and coerced her into self-honesty, and now she really has to think, is this right for her? She’s never been more capable of making the right judgment regarding the matter in her life. While none of my covenmates have left the Craft, the reader’s decision is all her own.

Thagirion is the realm of the Black Sun under the leadership of Belphegor. Among the attributes of Thagirion are death, concealment and stealth, awakening, vitality, aristocracy and offices of power, wealth, leadership, overcoming personal weakness, imagination, and the will to power. Its influence can be called upon to destroy or create energies of any kind and to engender the end of any given form of allegiance (marital, occupational, etc.).

The Qliphas of the mental plane have seen her elevated via both opposing principles of the Numinous and initiated through the alchemical paths of artists and scholars alike. This stage of attainment is the springboard for the self-deifying initiation which the Qlipha of the Black Sun impresses upon magickians.

It is through the Sphereworking of Thagirion that witches tend to acquire the competence she needs to acquire gnosis of her Higher Self. The Sphere of the Black Sun often sees the witch’s everlasting part and precedent of self through the bestial called the Spirit Animal. As the circumference of the Black Sun is the reality which underlies our solar system’s center of revolution (i.e., the Logos), the Spirit Animal is the hidden aspect of the Higher Self.

As the initiatory force of Thagirion impresses itself upon the witch, massive influxes of spiritual power stimulate her Kundalini and bedevil her with great concupiscence. The trials of this sphere will often force the witch to develop a greater awareness of her physical surroundings.

The element of the Numinous corresponding to the Planetary Sphere of the Sun is the prime mover of the Logos– the center of the metaphorical universe. The Black Sun is the true and hidden center of the universe, a mass without a center, which contains the All within its limitless and unperceived circumference. Every Higher Self is a ray of the Black Sun, for while the Sun generates causal life, the Black Sun generates acausal life. The Sun is the Logos– the revealed truth– a necessary thing. The Black Sun is the Alogos, the gnosis yet concealed. The archetypes of the Planetary Sphere of the Sun are the gurus who teach the many– Mohammed and his ilk– who engender small elucidations en masse. The archetypes of Thagirion are those possessors of hidden knowledge which initiate the selected few into unprecedented attainment.

The Black Sun is held to be an apocalyptic force– the prime mover behind an all-consuming desolation. The Black Sun, in truth, is concerned with the progression of aeons– cyclic phases in humankind’s spiritual development. The Alogos, once revealed, engenders another cycle of the development of the Logos. The Black Sun will only destroy the world as you know it.

The Black Sun has no relationship whatsoever with the mysteries of the Nazi spiritualists– the Hitlerian symbol often called “the Black Sun” was, in truth, called the “Sun Wheel.” The reference to their symbol as “the Black Sun” is an entirely modern misnomer for the icon; zero Nazis ever referred to that symbol as the Black Sun.

Golachab corresponds to sadistic sexual urges, military power, courage and aggression, masculinity, and slaughter. The energies of Golachab can serve to provoke combat, lust, bloodshed, assassination, warfare, punishment, and conflict. Golachab is the Martian sphere and its guide is Asmodeus. Herein dwell the most violent and powerful variants of incubi and succubi. By the sphere of Goleb/Golachab, the witch is divest of unnecessary characteristics.

Self-initiation through this sphere is often accompanied by a trial of conflict– but not necessarily combat. An apprentice of mine had to break up a dogfight by grabbing both participants by their mouths and swinging them away from one another. He fucked up his hand in the process– not only was everyone shocked he’d just sent two dogs yelping off, I’m told the fellow wasn’t the concerned in the least about the blood gushing out of his hand. One fellow I know spent hours in an armed stand-off he wound up in out of nowhere to defend a battered woman he’d befriended– no one got hurt and no one got in legal trouble.

Self-initiation through Golachab imparts an illumination of the mind which allows the black magickian to truly fulfill the role of the left-handed adept. A sharpening of the analytical faculties ensues as a new vitality emerges. In short, the witch acquires the initiave and the depth of perception which will allow her to bear the full fruits of the things she has attained so far.

The Jupiterian Qlipha of Ashtoreth corresponds to wisdom, initiation, limitations and restrictions, dynamic change, continual motion, bloodlust, opening or awakening anything, wealth, seeking allies, honour, suicide, and the revelation of truth.

The realm of Gha’agsheblah/Gashkalah imparts another distinct stage in the witch’s alchemical progression as her Black Flame is further illuminated. The Sphereworking of Gamchicoth completes the stage of incremental ascent comprised by the second triad of the Qlipha– the downward-pointing triangle whose points are the Qliphas of the Black Sun, Mars, and Jupiter. These triangle formed by the Planetary Spheres of the Sun, Mars, and Jupiter is known as the Akashic Record– a catalog that contains recordings of all thoughts, knowledge, and occurrences which have ever come to exist. The witch who has self-initiated through both the Qlipha of the Black Sun and the Planetary Sphere of the Sun will come to the Record bearing the Torch of Alogos.

Gashkelah/Gamchicoth (which name means Devourers) is the realm of intellectual development wherein philosophy is studied and erudition is pursued. Its energies are apt for manipulation, propaganda, deception, and the refinement of the evil eye. Herein the witch can be taught many workings of advanced demon magick.

Satariel/Sathariel is the Saturnian sphere of Lucifuge Rofocale wherein the mysteries of higher esotericisms are recorded and imparted unto the witch. Its energies correspond to concealment, the propagation of darkness, overcoming oppression, fear, death, the darkening of one’s soul, lethal execration, and the attainment of cold-heartedness. Herein the witch is tested and forced to look beyond the absurdity of what confronts her and see the truth that lies within it. It was after self-initiation through this sphere that my True Will was revealed to me– the very self-initiation wherein Ereshkygal introduced herself to the other two celebrants and I as the Saturnian Manifestation of Mother Hecate. Within Sathariel sits the True Throne of Lilith, as hinted by her name Ama Lilith: Ama’s a common title for Binah.

Ghagiel/Ogiel/Chaigidel is Baelzebuth’s realm which corresponds to Uranus. Herein the witch breaks down the causal constraints which the Cosmos has forced upon her and seeks the experience of freedom and lawlessness through the dissolution of her ego. This is the realm of the True Will/Personal Wyrd and it corresponds to criminality and insurrection. This sphere rises in opposition to the demiurge and propagates what is wrathful and evil. This sphere can be called upon for the attainment of true wisdom and the domination of the masses. It’s the sphere of the Magus. According to Evoking Eternity by E.A. Koetting, the power of Ghagiel can be called upon in baneful magick to induce “self-delusion, confusion, consternation, and stagnation.”

Thaumiel is the realm wherein the witch becomes androgynous and immortal. Under the dominion of Molock and Satan, its influence causes creation and destruction on a macrocosmic scale and its energies are suited to death and everything related to it. The witch awakens the most hidden aspects of the Black Flame by imbibing the Black Light from the source. The energies of Thaumiel are acausal, pandimensional (flowing in every direction), and unhindered by time. The causal/Cosmic restrictions are truly released by this sphere, and the will to power becomes completely unfettered by personal weaknesses. This sphere pertains to warfare against the Demiurge and it illuminates the subconscious of the celebrant. Its planetary correspondences are Neptune and Pluto.

Marbas is a Demon of Mechanics and a Jupiterian-Mercurial President of the Goetia attributed to the Uranian Sphere of the Qliphoth. He’s the Chief Engineer of the Infernal Plane and the Superintendent of all its public buildings. Marbas rules over prescience, pendulums, glamour magick, mind tricks, tarot cards, mind reading, crystal balls, and the use of Norse runes in divination. He is capable of both inflicting and relieving illnesses, serious or otherwise, and he holds the secret of the Philosopher’s Stone.

Marbuel is known as the Revealer of Secrets and Master of Hidden Things, and he is infamous for manifesting results very quickly. He uncovers secreted truths and imparts wisdom and knowledge to the witch. A witch may come to know the truth of a matter by invoking the spirit and looking through his eyes—deducing through his discernment. Marbuel is renowned for his ability to confer hidden and secreted knowledge, as well as his honesty and accuracy in doing so. He can make the witch aware of hidden aspects of herself—both unawakened spiritual gifts and undiscovered traits of her personality. He can also engender lucid dreams.

In The Encyclopedia of Demons in World Religions and Cultures, Theresa Bane describes the spirit as follows:

Living in the bowels of the earth, Barbiel causes problems with harvest and travelers and creates discord between people. He is more powerful than any other demon in his cosmology. He moves against the stars, affects the economy, and causes earthquakes. 

Barbas can improve the witch’s astral hearing and magickal memory, and he can impart the ability to psychically detect unknown locations or missing objects. He rules over good luck and gambling alike. He can bestow honors upon the witch and produce monetary gain for her. Grimoiric demonology claims that Barbas can cause men to change shapes, but I honestly don’t know what to make of that shit.

Marbuel is one of the seven Phantoms of Flame as well as the Patron of Artisans.  He assists poor mechanics and architects, helping them carry out their contracts such that they produce accomplishments outside the range of ordinary human ability. He’s listed as one of the seven Chief Dukes of Hell alongside Azael, the Leader of the Watchers, and Mesphito, the Keeper of the Book of Death.

While some have postulated that Barbason, a demon from one of Shakespeare’s plays, is the same entity as Marbas, Mesphito (Mephistophiles) told me this wasn’t the case.

The descriptions of Marbas which appear in grimoires modern and old alike, right-handed and black magickal alike, give praise to his renowned honesty. The first time I spoke to him, he gave unrequested yet much appreciated advice for the composition of two rituals I had yet to finish writing and one I had yet to get started on. Once the conversation was, in my opinion, satisfactorily finished, he abruptly gave me his insights into a personal trouble of mine. A black magickal priestess by the name of Akelta has also attested to these characteristics of his, expressing amazement at how helpful he is in her rites to heal others, as well as at his honesty when she asks him to heal someone that he simply cannot.

Barbas can give aid in the Initiatory Sphereworkings of the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun without involving Sephirothic forces, and he can also help initiate the witch through the element of water. Capable of casting very effective maledictions, he absolutely loves children and has a knack for enacting violence against those that would molest them.

Barbuel specializes in astral combat. His auspices are useful in the endeavors of shielding, warding, banishing, and exorcism. He’s a master of all arts who can teach any handicraft or mechanical trade– in fact, it’s said that he can teach more in an instant than a group of masters could in twenty years. He can make the witch a better fighter and a better driver, and he can teach her the mechanics of the human body.

Marbas rules over the seas, all the waters, and all the lifeforms within them. He is attributed to the Qliphothic Sphere known as Ghagiel (Uranus/Beelzebuth) and the Qliphothic Tunnel ruled by A’ano’nin. This tunnel is related to the fifteenth tarot card known as the Devil and has a planetary attribution to Saturn. This pathway spans from Thagirion (Black Sun/Belfegore) to Samael (Mercury/Adrammelech) and is related to the Witch’s Sabbat. This stone of this path is the Black Diamond– the variate of the Philosopher’s Stone attainable through demonic alchemy.

According to grimoiric demonology, Marbas generally appears as a great lion or wild boar, to later adopt the form of a human male when coerced into so doing. His adoption of the form of a lion is more commonly recorded than his manifestation as a bore, and it is said that he will adopt specific forms in conformity with the black magickian’s desires. I made sure not to study his appearance prior to my first evocation of him so that I would have no presuppositions of his appearance for him to conform to, which makes it interesting that he appeared to have something resembling the head of a lion when he showed himself to me. Other demonographies depict him manifesting as a master workman wearing an apron.
