Preface: this essay is a pretentious, fancy-ass criticism of decades of Satanic and Luciferian philosophy. Some of you who stumble across this piece will find it incomprehensible– if you are one of those people, then you are not among those who need to hear this criticism, and for that, you should count yourselves lucky. American and European Satanism was plagued with the disease of Elitism since the early stages of their developments, and Elitism is a philosophy which illogically manipulates the value of human life. This regrettable social illness has corrupted both Satanists and Satanism itself for too long.
In essence, Elitism is a self-serving delusion, a toxic fantasy. Every human being is better than the average person in one way or another– some people cook better than your average person, some are more magickally developed than your average person, some are better spouses than your average person, some are more politically informed than your average person, some are more morally virtuous than your average person, some are more well-read than your average person, some are more physically fit than your average person, etc.
Everyone has their own personal aptitudes. An Elitist worldview can only be constructed by subjectively selecting which aptitudes do and do not supposedly place a man above the majority of the “human herd,” and that is illogical. The value of any given aptitude is determined by what one does with it, what one could do with it, and what one plans to do with it.
Ergo, Elitism can only be qualified subjectively; a would-be Elitist must single out the aptitudes that they attribute the most value to and designate them as the determinants of human worth in order to maintain their misanthropic view of humanity. While the Elitist is surpassed by countless persons in multifarious ways, he comforts himself with the delusion of superiority.
Satanism was built upon the bedrock of misanthropy and spirituality, and so, spiritual-ness eventually came to be viewed the qualifying factor of the “Elite” in some Satanic philosophies. This mentality eventually evolved into a sort of magickal supremacism, in which humankind was segregated into two groups: the “fireborn” and the “clayborn.”
This dichotomy was predicated upon a bastardization of pre-existent religious concepts. In Sumerian mythology, humankind was inadvertently spawned by the blood of the dragon named Kingu, but in “Anti-Cosmic Satanism,” it was stated that only some men were born with “the blood of Kingu” embedded in their spirits. In Theistic Satanism, it was said that mankind was gifted with the Black Flame by the Devil, but in Anti-Cosmic Satanism, only some humans were born with the Black Flame. Those of us who are called to black magick were therefore labeled as the “fireborn”, and that very label constitutes a bastardization of Islamic cosmology.
In the grand scheme of things, as viewed by the acausal and the Numinous, humanity’s spiritual ascent constitutes the primary determinate of the value of those physical organisms which are possessed of isolate consciousness. Nonetheless, it is senseless for an incarnate human to predicate the value of a human life upon it’s carrier’s magickal development and spiritual gifted-ness. We all incarnate more than once so that our souls can learn from these physical lives, and many of the lessons we need are non-magickal in nature. A non-practitioner can easily reincarnate to become a master magickian in the next life when it is their time to do so– we incarnate and live as we should, unless anti-human intelligences, material difficulties, or personal failings deprive us of what we were intended to gain.
Luciferianism has its own black magickal variant of Elitism entitled “Predatory Spirituality”, which came to be adopted by many Satanists. This dichotomy of predators and prey was always completely illusory. Defining oneself as a predator and the majority of humankind as prey can only be done arbitrarily. One can be the “predator” in their sex life and still be the “prey” in this economy. One can be bullied and manipulated socially and still be destroying and feeding off of other people via magickal means. Everyone is predator and prey alike– this is the way of the world.
Just as Predatory Spirituality and the clayborn-fireborn dichotomy are the bastard children of Elitism, Elitism is the bastard child of dualism, and many variations of Satanic and Luciferian Philosophy are regrettably rooted in dualism.
Many Satanists and Luciferians define themselves and their lifestyles as “adversarial;” this is nonsensical as well. We all have our rivals and we all have our friends. We all have things we conform to and things we rebel against. The idea of being “adversarial” is an oblivious surrender to ego, and a dualistic denial of a part of one’s nature. Remember, the Devil was first deemed “ha-satan” in a dualistic and monotheistic religion. Whether he is your advocate or your adversary depends entirely on your lifestyle, your spiritual path, and your perspective.
Remember the Baphomet, dear reader. (S)he is half-animal and half-human, half-male and half-female, half-mammal and half-fish. One of hir hands points to the Sphere of Wrath, and the other to the sphere of Mercy. (S)he is the underlying harmony which lies beyond perceived opposites, and (s)he represents what we were meant to understand.
