Enochian Invocation of Noctulius

{While I am a staunch critic of the Order of the Nine Angles, their teachings are a legitimate repository for real Greek and Druidic magickal knowledge, regardless of how much of their teachings was stolen from Kenneth Grant. It was originally an archdemon of the Tunnels of Set who told me the O9A’s deities were worth working with, and I have found this to be true. Working with these deities is different from working with most other pantheons, so seek guidance before endeavor. It is up to the celebrant to decide what, if any, equipment and materials she will employ in the performance of this ritual}

Magickal Hymn to Noctulius, Azanigin, & Aosoth

{This Latin hymn to Noctulius, Aosoth, and Azanigin was written to be seven stanzas. I personally consecrated it prior to offering it up to the deities it entreats. This hymn may be recited one or more times as a stand-alone self-empowerment exercise or recited in pursuit of guidance or gnosis. Alternately, the hymn can be incorporated into or added onto a given ritual. I am not affiliated with nor do I condone the agenda of the Order of the Nine Angles, but I find the Nekalah to be very much worth working with}

Rege Azanigin; Voco te Aosoth
Veni Noctulius, Rex Qamar et Rex Noctem
Germinet Anados, Gnosis, et Azoth
Invoco Aosoth, Matrona Mortem et Magia
Ave Noctulius, Versipellis et Venefico
Ave Azanigin Mater Zuhal et Khaos
Agios o Noctulius et Aosoth; Azanigin Gloria
[Reign, Azanigin; I Call to Aosoth/ Come, Noctulius, King of the Sphere of the Moon and King of the Night/ Engender Magickal Empowerment, Provide Gnosis, and Manifest the Fifth Element/ I Call to Aosoth, Matron of Death and Magick/ Hail Noctulius, Shapeshifter and Witch/ Hail Azanigin, Mother of the Sphere of Saturn and Khaos/ Numinous is Noctulius as well as Aosoth; Glory to Azanigin]

NoctuliusAbove: My Channeled Sigil of Noctulius

Disclaimer

I do not support the Order of the Nine Angles or associate with persons affiliated with it. Nonetheless, I do have beneficial relationships with many of the entities venerated by the O9A, and introducing these entities to the broader black magickal community has been something of a side-project of mine for some time.

I am writing this article because I believe that Noctulius and other spiritual intelligences venerated by the O9A deserve a better pool of magickians to work with than that which the O9A has to offer. I believe that many members of my audience are or will become better equipped to work with and venerate Noctulius than any “Niner” ever will be.

This article will exclusively feature original methods (chants & sigil) for conjuring Noctulius. My experience is that the magickal current of the O9A causes the spirits they venerate to manifest in ways that are unusual, often undesirable, and generally unpleasant to both the magickian and the spirit.

Ergo, I have channeled a unique sigil for Noctulius and channeled original chants which may be used to summon Noctulius. The chants and sigil which the O9A present for the conjuration of Noctulius do not appear anywhere in this article.

The Nature of Noctulius

Among the Dark Gods of the ONA are multiple aspects of the Devil: Satan, Lucifer, Shaitan, and Noctulius. Like Amaymon, Noctulius is a counterpart of Lucifer, and I want to make it clear that Noctulius is far more closely connected to Lucifer than to Satan.

Noctulius appeared to me once as a talking raven with glowing red eyes, once as a black-furred werewolf, and once as a floating corpse-wizard. I have found this spirit to be possessed of a kind, welcoming, fatherly, and didactic disposition– a description verified by a former Niner who goes by Eye of Star on YouTube. Noctulius told Eye of Star to just call him Deofel (Note: Deofel is an old English form of the word Devil).

Noctulius hails from the Void, and many demons answer to him, some of which are known to me. His emissary Ayarllah appeared to me as a floating anthropoid in a tattered grey robe– I could only see blackness under his hood, but skeletal hands extended from his sleeves. Another emissary of his, Djemzhalha, appeared as a white, red-eyed spectre with the lower body of a black serpent. In addition to these, Noctulius commands legions of spirits which appeared to me as white ghost-ravens.

In Hebdomadry (7FW), Noctulius is said to be an earth-based deity of night who can give aid in workings of enchantment, especially those with baleful intent. He presides over death magick, pyromantic gnosis, and lunar magick. He can guide the witch through harsh exercises in torture magick and self-transformative rites of sadomasochism, as well as the alteration of consciousness via trance and workings of vampyrism.

Said to rule over Sinister awakening, Noctulius is the only deity besides Atazoth to be mentioned by name in the O9A’s initiation rite. The incense petrichor is attributed to him because he is held to be primarily attributed to the sphere of the Moon.

Associated with the archetypes of the king and the priest, Noctulius represents raw nature. According to Sinister tradition, he is the “primal awareness of the vibrance of life” which turns a man into an “accuser” (note: the name Satan is often translated as accuser). He rules earthquakes and tornados and he can teach one to control the wind and the weather.

Hostia refers to Satan and Noctulius as “the demonic forms of the spheres.”

“Noctulius” is the Latin word for a species of bat called a noctule (Nyctalus noctula), the largest species of bat in the UK. It might be worth pointing out that early Christians believed that the Devil took the form of a bat to harass men when he wasn’t otherwise occupied.

Representing liberation and heresy, Noctulius is “the laughter of the savage, wild god,” who terrifies the uninitiated. Noctulius is associated with “hidden knowledge” and “sinister knowledge/terror.” He can do wonders for your third eye and astral hearing. He rules the first and fourth transpersonal chakras.

In The Black Book of Satan, various names are recommended for males as well as females. Noctulius is listed amongst the males, so he is likely male at least most of the time, as he appeared to me, but there are still entities in Naos listed as female who sometimes manifest as male.

One O9A initiate depicts her invocation of Noctulius as such:

“I saw [name restricted] laughing, he turned on the lights and said: ‘HE was here!’ On my comment that he entered my body, he replied: ‘It wasn’t me – He was inside of you.’ I started laughing. [name restricted] said he saw my face changing into demonic forms, huge, limitless rays of Dark surrounding me, and how he had some strange, short communication with Him while He was in me. I have no idea what happened, but this was so unbelievable that I feel strange even now…”

Hagur’s depiction of Noctulius is as follows: “He represents the will as the male correlative of the High Priestess, the fluidic basis (once more) of all transmission of activity in passionate and intense reactions. He is the Sinister God, the truth behind the veil of dark light. Linked with the Moon, he has also the Goddess tendencies, “the jewelled Lady” combining the “inner sinister” and “outer dark qualities”. “Impaled on a throne” as a Hierophant, he is the Judge of equity, but certainly not afraid of causing destructive situations. He knows that the sinister man (woman) has to be motivated to change and practice, even if it means the shedding of blood through “opfer” as a stirring sinister impulse. But, he is also the prudent Dark God who would not attack anyone honest, and in heart and mind treading the Sinister Path; but protecting him or her to be able to “winter in the wildest woods”.”

The Temple of THEM has linked Noctulius to the Pleiades due to the remarkable similarity of the sigil of the Pleiades with the sigil of Noctulius given in Hebdomadry. The Pleiades have an astrological influence considered to be a mix of the moon and another planet, usually Mars. It is purported to have a distinctly evil (Diabolic?) influence, and it is associated with passing from this world to the afterlife (initiation?), mourning, violent death, journeys, and the judgment of the dead. Its most well-known star, Alcyone, is associated with the attainment of occult knowledge and magickal power.
